I AM one of the many sad old anorak brigade as referred to by a certain councillor. I and many residents of North Somerset have voiced our concerns regarding the Silica, particularly regarding the annual tax burden for maintenance and running costs, some £23,000 per annum I believe. However I am quite sure I was not mistaken to see the same councillor on Points West explaining to thousands of viewers 'what a wonderful piece of artwork (a questionable statement) we have here in Weston and when all the lights are on it is going to be a wonderful sight'.Strange, when you consider it was the same councillor who was suggesting that all the street lights throughout the district should be turned off to save taxpayers' money.D A STANLEYCastle Hill, Banwell
