A Weston art student will host an exhibition next month.
Val Newman will display some of her family history paintings at the Old Town Quarry in South Road.
Val is studying fine art at University Centre Weston, and will put on the exhibition to showcase some of the key moments in her life.
These include scenes of her grandmother who met future King Edward VII at her pub and her grandfather who was one of the first people to import bananas from the Canary Islands to sell wholesale.
There is also a strange incident of a ghost plane, when a German bomber crash landed in Somerset by narrowly missing Val’s car.
But when the plane hit the ground there was no noise, leaving Val to not realise what had happened until a return visit to the area months later.
The art exhibition will be open to the public from July 6-12, but will be closed from July 9-10.
