A Weston-super-Mare-born artist who won a prestigious National Portrait Gallery prize will show her work at a town centre gallery.

Ros Cuthbert’s career as a portrait painter took off when she won the portrait gallery’s competition in 1981.

Her work has since been hung in the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Royal College of Art.

Ros’ collage artwork will be featured in the LT Gallery, in Orchard Street until November 28.

She said: “Making art from discarded stuff, giving it a new and poetic function alongside paint and drawing materials is an immense pleasure, an adventure.”
