Two comedy legends will have audiences in stitches when they perform together at The Playhouse in Weston.

An Evening Shared With Jasper Carrott and Alistair McGowan is showing at the High Street venue on November 13-14.

The comedians promise a night of stand-up comedy and hilarious impressions as they draw on their wealth of experience in the industry.

Jasper Carrott started out as a compere at the Boggery Folk Club in Birmingham in the mid-1970s, where his talent for comedy was discovered.

He went on to star in a number of shows including Carrott’s Commercial Breakdown, 24 Carrott Gold, Golden Balls, All About Me and the long-running BBC TV series The Detectives.

His career has spanned five decades and he is now sharing the stage with fellow comedian Alistair McGowan.

McGowan has worked in almost every area of showbusiness – as an impressionist, stand-up comedian, actor, singer and writer – but he is best known for his BBC show The Big Impression which won him numerous awards, including a BAFTA.

He has worked extensively in theatre throughout his career and appeared in the West End in Art, Cabaret, The Mikado, Pygmalion and Little Shop of Horrors.

The comedy duo will present a show filled with pure laughter and entertainment when they appear at The Playhouse next month.

Tickets, priced £28, can be bought at www.theplayhouse.co.uk or on 01934 645544.

The Playhouse has teamed up with the Mercury to give readers the chance to win one of two sets of family tickets to the show.

To be in with a chance of winning, answer the following question by November 2.

By entering the competition you are agreeing to be contacted by Archant about it.
