DIRECT from a sell-out London run, Abigail’s Party will visit Bath exclusively with an all-star cast.
The new production, starring Jill Halfpenny, Andy Nyman, Natalie Casey, Susannah Harker and Joe Absolom has received rave reviews at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory during a sell-out seven week run.
Now audiences in Bath will be able to enjoy Lindsay Posner’s acclaimed staging of Mike Leigh’s iconic piece of theatre when the production tours to the Theatre Royal for one week.
In 1970’s suburbia, Beverly and her workaholic husband Laurence host a drinks party for their neighbours. Beverly awaits her guests the hapless Ange and her husband Tony, who have just moved in over the road, and nervy, divorcee Sue, whose 15-year-old punk daughter Abigail is throwing a party of her own.
In one of the funniest plays ever written, prejudice is unmasked, tempers flare, and the party fast becomes the social get-together from hell.
The show will be on stage at Bath’s Theatre Royal from Monday-Saturday. Showings from Monday-Wednesday will be at 7.30pm and showings on Thursday-Saturday will take place at 8pm.
Tickets, priced £16.50-32.50, are available from the box office on 01225 448844 or online at www.theatreroyal.org.uk
