ONE of the most popular comedians of the 21st century will perform in Weston this year following a six-year break from stand-up.
Catch Jack Dee as he road tests his new material at The Playhouse on May 9.
Having appeared on primetime shows like QI and Never Mind The Buzzcocks, 8 Out Of 10 Cats and Have I Got News For You, he has also been hosting Radio 4’s legendary I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue, co-writing and starring in four series of BBC 2’s hit sitcom Lead Balloon and writing his memoirs, Thanks For Nothing, which he modestly dedicated to himself.
Dee is an English actor and writer, well known for his sardonic and deadpan style.
He is also known for winning the 2001 Celebrity Big Brother.
Since the 1990s the popular funny man has performed sell-out acts at many high-profile venues, including the London Palladium and the Hammersmith Apollo.
After he scooped the British Comedy Award for Best Stage Newcomer in 1991, Dee was offered his own show and The Jack Dee Show first went out on Channel 4 in February 1992, showcasing his talents to a wider audience.
He has played starring roles in television series, including the part of Doug Digby in the Grimleys pilot (1997) and has made guest appearances on programmes like Silent Witness, Dalziel and Pascoe and Jonathan Creek.
Tickets, priced £15, are available from the box office on 01934 645544.
Age guidance for the show is 16 and over.
