A COMEDY from the director of Juno and a post-apocalyptic action film.

A COMEDY from the director of Juno and a post-apocalyptic action film are the two new movies released tomorrow (Fri).

Up in the Air (15) is an amusing romance centred around a man ready to make a connection.

This film adaptation of the 2001 novel centres on A-list star George Clooney.

He plays Ryan Bingham, a businessman who is forced to quit his life on the road when his company cuts their travel budget.

He soon finds out that an ambitious young co-worker named Natalie Keener is pushing a plan to cut costs by having employees stay grounded.

Ryan argues that Natalie knows nothing about the process of firing people, and his boss assigns him to take Natalie with him on his upcoming travels to show her what it is like.

As they travel together and become better acquainted, Natalie questions Ryan's philosophies, but he is happy to remain in his niche and continue avoiding serious relationships.

After living out of a suitcase with no one to answer to, Ryan is soon faced with the prospect of having to settle down and set up home.

The only snag is, Ryan is on the cusp of collecting his hard earned £10million frequent flyer miles, and has just met the frequent-traveller woman of his dreams.

Futuristic thriller, The Book of Eli (TBC) is also out tomorrow and stars The Bone Collector and Malcolm X star Denzel Washington.

Other top actors include Gary Oldman and Michael Gambon of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

If action, adventure and drama appeal to you then this movie, set in a post-apocalyptic America, will appeal to you.

As the once picturesque countryside is transformed into a desolate wasteland, one man, known as Eli, fights to protect a sacred book that could hold the key to the survival of the human race.

But a twisted tyrant (Gary Oldman) is determined to capture the book for his own evil ends.

Lone hero Eli tries to guard the Book of Eli, a bible which to his knowledge is the last Bible in the world.

The book provides knowledge that could redeem society, and the source of all its pain.

Catch both films at Weston Odeon from tomorrow.
