A captivating spy thriller is coming to Weston-super-Mare’s Odeon cinema - and three pairs of tickets are up for grabs.

Based on a bestselling novel by former CIA operative Jason Matthews, Red Sparrow stars Jennifer Lawrence as Dominika Egorova, a prima ballerina whose ferocity has pushed her body and mind to the absolute limit who is also determined to protect her mother at all costs.

When she suffers a career-ending injury, Dominika and her mother are faced with a bleak and uncertain future.

She finds herself manipulated into becoming the newest recruit for Sparrow School, a secret intelligence service which trains exceptional young people like her to use their bodies and minds as weapons and use every asset at their disposal to become masters of seductive and manipulative combat.

After enduring the perverse and sadistic training process, she emerges as the most dangerous Sparrow the programme has ever produced.

Dominika must now reconcile the person she was with the power she now commands, with her own life and everyone she cares about at risk, including an American CIA agent who tries to convince her he is the only person she can trust.

The film reunites Jennifer Lawrence with Francis Lawrence, her director on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Red Sparrow also stars It Comes At Night’s Joel Edgerton and legendary British actors Jeremy Irons and Charlotte Rampling.

Screenings of Red Sparrow begin today at 2.15pm at the Odeon, in The Centre.

The Mercury has teamed up with the Odeon to offer three lucky readers a pair of tickets to the showing of their choice.
