Sydney band Planet will embark on their first tour across the UK, stopping off in Bristol next week.

The quartet will play at the O2 Academy, in Frogmore Street, on Monday at 7pm.

Planet are known for producing a sound which is reminiscent of Britpop, but remain undeniably Australian.

They have recently produced a video for single Save.Sold and released their debut EP, Waking Eight, earlier this month.

The indie group have gained a strong following for their quirkiness and eccentric methods, they were brought together by their shared love of music and still record their songs in singer Matty Took’s bedroom.

They will be supporting fellow countrymen the DMA’s around the UK.

Planet will play at the O2 Academy on Monday at 7pm,

Tickets, priced £17.40, can be purchased at www.academymusicgroup.com/o2academybristol or 01779 279227.
