A Welsh singer-songwriter will perform songs from her debut album in Bristol this month.

Bryde will be at the Exchange in Old Market Street on Monday evening.

Like An Island explores themes on independence, liberation and relationships, contrasting poetic lyrics with searing guitar playing at the same time.

Bryde has also set up her own record label, Seahorse Music, to publish music made by like-minded women and support them in a male-dominated industry.

The gig also coincides with the release of her latest single, To Be Brave.

Bryde said: “It is a comment about how we all live out certain episodes of our lives in such a public setting these days that I feel we almost edit them to appear flawless, nothing but smiles.”

Bryde will perform at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £8, are available online.
