A night of high quality singing is coming to Burnham-on-Sea next week.

Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society will host their spring concert at the end of April.

This year the choir will be featuring old American folk songs by Aaron Copland, and the suite of English folk songs, The Sprig Of Thyme, by John Rutter.

The choir, now in its 43rd year, will also perform other folk songs by Percy Grainger, Gerald Finzi, and Morley Stanford.

They will be joined by a small orchestra of 15 professional musicians and, as usual, will be directed by Nicholas Bromilow.

The choral society will perform at St Andrew’s Church, in Burnham’s Victoria Street, on April 28 at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £4-8, are available from The Crafty Teacup, in Victoria Street, or may be purchased on the night.
