A night of live drum and bass music will be held at a Weston nightclub this weekend.

Bristol-based Dr Meaker will be at The Electric Banana, in Oxford Place, on Saturday.

The nine-piece band’s shows have a reputation as being some of the country’s must-see events in the genre, with the group winning Glastonbury Festival’s Live Act competition.

The band have also just released their new album Dirt & Soul.

They will be joined on the night by fellow drum and bass group UK:ID.

Their acclaimed debut album Freedom Of Speech has been supported by BBC Introducing while they have received glowing reviews from music blogs including FlavourMag, Louder Than War and GigSlutz.

DJ Dannerz will play music until the early hours following the performances.

Doors open at 8pm and tickets, priced £10-12, are available online or from The Electric Banana and The Loft, in Oxford Street.
