The Goo Goo Dolls will visit Bristol’s O2 Academy in July.

The multi-platinum group has sold more than 12 million albums since 1986 and scored 14 top-10 hits, including Name, Slide and the band’s signature song Iris.

Iris spend nearly 12 months on the Billboard charts in 1998, holding the number one position for 17 weeks.

The band have been on the road constantly since their 11th album Boxes was released.

The record was lauded by critics, who said it was a ‘step forward in the band’s extensive repertoire’ and an ‘expertly judged slice of plaintive pop music’.

The band have been nominated for four Grammys, and singer John Rzeznikhas been given the Hal David Starlight Award which recognises young songwriters.

The Goo Goo Dolls will be at the O2 Academy on July 24 at 7pm.

Tickets, priced £32.60, are available from
