A CONCERT with the unique voices of the Cheddar Male Choir will take place on Saturday.

The 45-strong group will sing an array of songs including My Love is Like a Red Red Rose, My Heart Will Go On, All in an April Evening and songs from Les Misérables.

Organisers have also arranged for a female soloist to accompany the traditional English singers.

The event is to celebrate 21years of the work done by Wedmore and Axbridge Community Health Fund.

Volunteers from the charity help raise money for equipment and amenities for both surgeries, to benefit the patients.

Over the last four years the community fund, which was set up in 1988, has raised more than £30,000 to spend on equipment to assist doctors and nurses.

To help support the fund and enjoy a night of classic entertainment, join the celebration at St Mary's Church in Church Street, Wedmore, at 7.30pm on Saturday.

Tickets, priced £7.50, are available from Jan Young on 01934 710255 or Shirley Wederell on 712089.
