A star member of one of Britain’s most popular bands will appear on a Weston-super-Mare stage this summer.
The Playhouse, in High Street, will host An Evening With Martin Kemp on June 10 from 7.30pm.
Kemp was bassist for the immensely popular Spandau Ballet, and has since diversified his career – becoming a soap star and TV presenter.
Kemp will give an insight into life in the public eye and tell tales from his lengthy career.
Eager audience members will have the chance to ask Kemp the questions they have been dying to ask since the days he featured on bedroom wall posters when Spandau Ballet were topping the charts.
The band churned out a number of hits like Gold and True which have transcended generations.
Since Spandau finished playing, Kemp has downed his bass and has moved into acting and television presenting.
He portrayed the villainous Spencer Owen in Eastenders and starred in British gangster film The Krays.
He is currently featuring alongside Gary Barlow and Dannii Minogue as a judge on the BBC’s popular talent show Let It Shine – which is reassembling Take That for a touring stage show.
Tickets, priced £22 or £32 for a meet-and-greet pass, are available from 01934 645544 or online via www.theplayhouse.co.uk
