An American rock band are set to burst onto the UK music scene after they have announced an international tour.

Mona will bring their indie-rock sound to Bristol next month as the four-piece band leave their Tennessee roots and take on the South West. The band formed in 2007 but did not rose to fame until 2010 when they made the BBC’s Sound Of 2011 poll.

Vocalist Nick Brown, drummer Vince Gard, bassist Zach Lindsey and guitarist Jordan Young formed in Ohio and moved to America’s music capital, Nashville, to launch their career.

The rock stars won MTV Awards’ Brand New For 2011 title as the ones to watch.

Mona will be at The Louisiana, in Wapping Road, at 7.30pm on April 1.

Tickets, priced £12.50, are available from
