A Somerset village will play host to a weekend music festival this summer.

The fifth Outcider Festival will be held from August 3-5 in Compton Martin.

The event has capacity for just 500 people and prides itself on hosting ‘quality’, original music.

Headliners Random Hand will be joined by the likes of The Bar Stool Preachers, Faintest Idea, The Scribes and Skimmity Hitchers.

There will also be plenty of cider and locally-sourced food for guests to enjoy along with the music.

Organiser Kev Davis said: “It is amazing to think our little party on a farm is now firmly established on the national festival scene.

“We have deliberately kept it simple and grassroots, with an emphasis on quality music and people having fun.

“We are really excited about this year’s line-up and we know the atmosphere will be outstanding again.”

Tickets, priced £20-69, are available online.
