A post-punk band are performing in Bristol to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

Public Image Ltd (PiL) were recognised as one of the most innovative and influential bands of all time and their live shows are not to be missed.

PiL were formed by singer John Lydon – also known as Johnny Rotten – after he left the Sex Pistols in January 1978 to explore more experimental styles of music.

Members have changed over the years and Lydon has been the only constant.

Their music earned them five UK top 20 singles and five UK top 20 albums.

The band are renowned for fusing rock, dance, folk, pop and dub to create original music.

John Lydon, Lu Edmonds, Scott Firth and Bruce Smith are the current members.

Fans can catch The Public Image Is Rotten tour at the O2 Academy on May 30.
