THE songs of the great Matt Monro will be presented at a concert later this month.

Lee Ingram, who runs his own jazz quintet and performs with The DS Big Band, has teamed up with pianist, arranger and vocalist Carole
Penhorwood to bring to Weston Born Free: a Tribute to Matt Monro at The Blakehay Theatre in Wadham Street, on December 12.

The year 2010 marks the 25th
anniversary of the popular singer’s death at the age of just 54.

The duo will perform numerous well-known hits, including Portrait of My Love, My Kind of Girl, Walk Away, From Russia with Love and, of course, Born Free.

Lee’s friend Barbara Maxwell, who writes theatrical reviews for a
well-known website, has researched and will read a short selection of biographical notes and anecdotes between songs.

The concert starts at 2pm, with
tickets at £6 available from the
Blakehay box office on 01934 645493.
