Watchet Live Festival is returning to Somerset after a two-year absence.
Headline acts include Melanie C, Cast, Hazel O’Connor and The Dub Pistols, with many more announcements due over the coming months.
Watchet Live is an independent, not-for-profit family festival taking place at The Down field, in Brent Road, Watchet, with amazing views of the West Somerset coastline and beyond.
Three stages host more than 60 acts, bringing a wide range of high-calibre performers not normally found on stage in the West Country.
With more than 80 per cent of camping tickets now sold, the event is once again shaping up to be sold-out well in advance of the August Bank Holiday.
Returning after a fallow year following a completely sold-out 10th anniversary in 2016, Watchet will once again make financial donations to charity groups including The Children’s Hospice South West and Elliot’s Touch.
Former Spice Girl Melanie C is one of the festival’s biggest names.
As a solo artist, Melanie has released seven albums, notching up over 10 million sales worldwide, alongside two UK number one singles and six top 10s.
Her debut album, Northern Star, released in 1999, sold four million copies worldwide and went triple platinum in the UK.
Also making their Watchet debut are Britpop legends Cast.
Their debut album, All Change, is widely regarded as one of the classic albums of the 1990s.
Released in October 1995, the album shot to seventh in the UK charts, reaching double platinum.
It went on to become the fastest selling debut album in the history of Polydor records.
Singer-songwriter and actress Hazel O’Connor will headline the udder stage on Saturday.
With a career spanning more than 30 years, she became famous in the early 1980s with hit singles Eighth Day, D-Days and Will You.
The Dub Pistols will return to Watchet by popular demand after their triumphant headline performance back in 2014.
Watchet Festival will take place at The Down, in Brent Road, from August 24-26.
Tickets, priced £82.50 for over-16s, £65 for 13 to 15-year-olds and £225 for a family ticket are available at www.watchetfestival.co.uk or on 02074 501532.
