Music lovers can see in 2018 with a unique party night at one of Weston’s most iconic venues – and Mercury readers could be at the heart of the fun, as we have two pairs of tickets to give away.

The Leylines have earned a massive following around the West Country and beyond in recent years, and will be topping the bill at the restored Winter Gardens this New Year’s Eve.

The band – who have recently revamped themselves, expanding from five members to six – will be joined on the night by fellow Weston band Zeals, who have recently returned home after a successful tour supporting The Hoosiers.

And the two bands promise a night to remember, with The Leylines set to perform their album Along The Old Straight Track in full, while also debuting some new material ahead of a big announcement for 2018.

Ticket holders will also be able to enjoy a glass of Prosecco on arrival and a hot buffet, plus a DJ through until 2am after the bands finish their sets in the first big music night since the Winter Gardens reopened following its renovation by Weston College.

The Leylines’ Hannah said: “We decided to come to The Winter Gardens as we have such a strong connection with Weston, and it is such a distinctive landmark for the town, and we thought we’d pull out all the stops – it is New Year’s Eve, after all.

“Weston College has done fantastic work restoring the building, and we can’t wait to see in 2018 with our friends and families in the beautiful pavilion ballroom. We cannot wait.”

Tickets are priced £35 (or £25 for Weston College students) from www.theleylinesmusic.co.uk and doors will open at 7pm.

Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final.
