The Voice, the talent show for singers, will be holding open mic auditions in Weston-super-Mare next week.

The show, which has aired on BBC 1 for the past five years, will move to ITV next year.

Producers are now looking for talented singers to perform in the show.

Auditions will be held at The London Inn in High Street on June 8 at 8pm.

People must book a slot by emailing

Weston singers have a good track record of appearances on the show.

Sarah Eden-Winn reached the head-to-head battle stage in 2014, and Marvin The Jazzman performed for, Ricky Wilson, Rita Ora and Boy George in the blind audition stage this year.

The winner of the 2017 version of The Voice will win a record contract with Polydor Records.

Both soloists and duos are welcome to audition, but people must be at least 16 years old by October 1.
