Weston Operatic Society’s junior group, The Oppits, has 50 members between the ages of six and 16 and months of rehearsals are about to be put to the test in their latest show.

The professional standards of make-up and fantastic feline costumes are bound to wow audiences in a weekend of performances at The Blakehay Theatre.

The musical is based on the book Old Possum’s Book Of Practical Cats by TS Elliot which was originally adapted into a show by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

It tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and is full of explosive songs.
