Romance, scheming and mistaken intentions make up Jane Austen’s classic masterpiece Emma in Bath.

The classic story will be brought to life in a sparkling new theatre adaptation, and it promises to be full of warmth and wit.

The show has been adapted by acclaimed Austen specialist Tim Luscombe to mark the 200th anniversary of the author’s death.

Young Emma Woodhouse has the world at her feet but when the dashing Mr Elton comes to town, she tries to play matchmaker to her new friend Harriet.

But, as the youngster tries to trick destiny, she finds herself forced to face her own feelings.

Emma will be at the Theatre Royal Bath, in Sawclose, from Monday until June 10.

There will be performances at 7.30pm from Monday to Wednesday and then at 8pm from June 8-10.

There will be a 2.30pm matinee on Wednesday and June 10.

Tickets, priced £18.50-34.50, are available from 01225 448844 or online via www.theatreroyal.org.uk
