People will be able to re-live the antics of Elle Woods as she goes from ditzy blonde to legal expert in Legally Blonde The Musical at the Bristol Hippodrome at the start of October.

After ditzy but fashion-forward Elle is dumped by her boyfriend when he goes to study law at Harvard, she refuses to take no for an answer and uses her beauty and persuasive nature to score a place in the class – and of course she takes her trusty chihuahua Bruiser with her.

The musical is based on the film which starred Reese Witherspoon and earned seven Tony nominations.

In this new musical, Lucie Jones will take on the role of Elle, having already appeared as the character in a previous show at Leicester Curve and having acting credits which include We Will Rock You, Ghost, Les Miserables and Midsomer Murders.

One of the film’s most-loved characters is Paulette Bonafonte, a manicurist who quickly becomes Elle’s firm friend.

Paulette will be played by Rita Simons, who is best known for playing Roxy Mitchell in EastEnders.

Professor Callahan, who mentors Elle throughout the story, will be played by Bill Ward, who has just completed three years in Emmerdale as farmer James Barton.

The show will be at Bristol Hippodrome from October 2-7 at 7.30pm each evening and 2.30pm on October 4 and 7.

Tickets, priced £15-52, are available via www.atgtickets.com/bristol or by calling 08448 717627.
