A TALE of dark deeds and mayhem – loosely based on a fairy tale – is being staged in Bleadon next month.

Bleadon Players will entertain audiences in Cindy Ella and the Bleadon Factor at the Coronation Hall, from January 6-8.

The story focuses on Simon Slyme, a talent show entrepreneur and the wicked uncle of Cindy Ella.

Not only has he tricked Cindy out of her inheritance, but has plans to demolish the village hall, pub and post office and build a supermarket, tower blocks, shopping mall and car parks in their place.

He plans one last talent contest in the Coronation Hall, the result of which he will fix so that the winners will be his two daughters, Daphne and Vanda, before the demolition team moves in.

To find out if he succeeds join the Players each evening at 7.30pm, with a matinee on January 8 at 2.30pm.

Tickets, priced £3-6, are on sale at the village post office and on the door on the day.
