Pant-stealing aliens land at The Playhouse

Hit children’s book Aliens Love Underpants has been transformed for the stage, and will visit Weston-super-Mare as part of its tour.

The show tells the story of a group of cheeky aliens, who visit Earth as their insatiable appetite for underwear cannot be fulfilled in space.

They ransack washing lines as the world discovers no underwear is safe from their mischievous hands.

It is based on Claire Freedman’s best-selling book of the same name, which was illustrated by Ben Cort, and selected for Richard and Judy’s Book Club.

It has been adapted for the stage and directed by Adam Bampton-Smith. He said: “This funny and colourful book makes a wonderful show, which is just right for a family audience. It’s simply­ pantastic.”

The zany and hilarious family-friendly show is boasts stunning effects, plus plenty of action and music, all of which will enthrall young fans.

Claire Freedman’s other books also have an underwear theme, and include Aliens In Underpants Save The World and Dinosaurs In Underpants.

Aliens Love Underpants will be at The Playhouse, in High Street, from July 23-24.

Shows will take place at 1.30pm and 3.30pm on July 23, and at 11am and 2pm on July 24.
