Shipham Players will be back on stage this month when they host two show and supper evenings at Shipham Village Hall on June 17 and 18.

The players will be bringing their popular format of two one-act plays, split by an interval when food will be served.

The evening opens with Jimmie Chinn’s Interior designs. The comedy-drama is based on three lonely women who are deceived by a brash, arrogant and deceitful conman.

Although of very different backgrounds, the three women share a common fate of loneliness and frustration. The play follows their attempts to trap the swindler.

This is followed by Nick Warburton’s comedy tale Distracted Globe, the sequel to Easy Stages which the players performed two years ago, based on a hapless am-dram group and their stage manager. Set backstage at a production of Hamlet, the spoof progresses to the after party, where music and food selection leaves a lot to be desired

Tickets for this double-header are available from Lenny’s Café, in The Square, Shipham. Tickets are also available from Handsfords store in The Square.

Admission, including supper, is priced at £12.50. Booking in advance is required.
