TRADITIONAL variety is about to return to town as Paddy Payne and her company present a one night special at The Playhouse.The lavish and colourful stage show will take the audience on a musical trip full of songs ranging from 1950s classics up to the present day pop songs.The company's eighth annual Christmas show, Sunday Night Live, will be staged on Sunday.The company, which started in 1981, has performed at The Playhouse for many years, in addition to other venues such as the SS Great Britain. Its latest show follows a traditional variety feel using local youngsters to perform the songs and dance numbers supported by invited guests,This year's invited guests include the 70-strong St Martin's Junior School choir and West End performer Sandy Rass, whose credits include lead roles in CATS and Starlight Express.The show will be hosted by IT weather presenter Alex Beresford.Profits raised from the show will benefit the Weston Orthopaedic Development Fund in memory of Paddy's husband John, who passed away in 2002.The performance starts at 7pm. Tickets, priced from £2-£10, are available from the box office on 01934 645544.
