Touring company Illyria is bringing author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s story The Lost World to Weston.

The family-friendly production features four intrepid explorers who travel to an uncharted plateau in South America and encounter living dinosaurs.

They soon hatch a plan to take the live specimens back to London.

Oliver Gray, from Illyria, said: “Illyria has given more performances to more people across a wider area than any other open-air touring theatre company, producing a larger annual season than any of its peers, and proudly maintaining professional Equity-approved productions for over a quarter of a century.

“We’re really pleased to be performing at Weston quarry and can’t wait see how the audience reacts.”

The Lost World will be at the Old Town Quarry, in South Road, on August 28 at 3pm. Tickets, priced £9-38, are available from www.illyria.uk.com

The Mercury has teamed up with Theatre Tropicana to offer two family tickets to the show.

The competition closes at 10am on August 22.
