Mark Youth Theatre is putting on popular classic The Wizard Of Oz next month and dress rehearsals are well under way.

The Wizard Of Oz tells the tale of Dorothy of Kansas, who gets swept away to the magical land of Oz during a freak tornado.

In a quest to get home, Dorothy travels to find the great wizard of Oz and makes many friends, and some enemies, along the way.

The journey does not come without risks, as the Wicked Witch of the West tries to track down Dorothy to kill her as revenge for her sister’s accidental death.

Favourite characters such as Dorothy, the cowardly lion, the tin man and the scarecrow will all make an appearance.

The show will run at the Princess Theatre in Princess Street, Burnham, from July 2-4, with evening performances at 7.30pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

Tickets, priced £6-8 or £25 for a family ticket, are available from the box office on 01278 784464 or from www.theprincesstheatre.co.uk
