The schools may have only just gone back, but for those already thinking ahead to half-term entertainment, Theatre Tropicana could be the answer with a double bill of Greek shows – and you can win tickets through the Mercury.
A stunning on-stage performance of an ancient Greek tale of adventure will premiere on stage at Weston’s Theatre Tropicana in October. Production company Four Of Swords Theatre will bring two epic Greek plays to the theatre to entertain the whole family in October.
Jason And The Argonauts is play full of adventure, carefully-choreographed fights and an exciting soundtrack. It follows Jason on his quest to find the Golden Fleece and features puppetry and film projections.
Medea will also be performed at the theatre during the half-term holiday - the ultimate tale of revenge. The show’s creators describe it as a ‘grisly’ production and warn people to be prepared to ‘rub shoulders’ with a masked and singing chorus.
An Ancient Greek Double Bill: Jason And The Argonauts and Medea will be at Theatre Tropicana in Marine Parade, Weston, from October 25-28.
There will be performances of Jason And the Argonauts at 2pm each day and Medea will be at 7.30pm each evening.
Jason And The Argonauts is for children aged eight and older, whereas Medea is suitable for anyone aged 12 and above.
Tickets for the shows, priced from £10-20, are available via www.tropicanaweston.co.uk or by calling 01179 020344.
The Mercury has teamed up with Theatre Tropicana to offer two lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to each show.
