Soul music lovers are set to be delighted when a brand-new show celebrating the genre’s best tunes comes to Weston – and you could be there enjoying the show thanks to our competition.

Soul Legends includes a huge cast of talented musicians and singers and features songs such as Respect, Soul Man and Ain’t Nobody from artists including Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner and Lionel Richie.

Although the show begins with focusing on soul’s heady 1960s origins, it then takes the audience on a musical journey through the genre’s heydays of the 1970s and 1980s, before looking at how soul music is received today.

Soul Legends will be at The Playhouse, in High Street, Weston, at 7.30pm on July 14.

Tickets, priced £26 or £24 for the over-60s, are available from 01934 645544 or online via The Playhouse website.

The Mercury has teamed up with The Playhouse to offer two lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to the show.

Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final.

The competition will close at 10am on June 10.
