PLATINUM-SELLING British indie band Bloc Party are hitting the road again – and will be at Bristol’s O2 Academy in October.

Just 12 months ago, the band’s future looked bleak, with its four members on hiatus and no new material being produced.

It looked like the end of the road for a band which shot to prominence through the release of 2006 debut album Silent Alarm. However, a creative surge ‘inspired by a dramatic year in world events’, and a shared desire to rekindle their musical kinship, prompted a reunion.

Now, one of Britain’s most popular guitar bands of the noughties stand on the brink of a triumphant return to form.

Kele Okereke, Russell Lissack, Gordon Moakes and Matt Tong are together again – with a new album, and a big-venue national tour to come.

New material bursting with passion and energy peppers forthcoming album Four; an EP of lean and uncompromising songs as powerful and anthemic as anything they’ve written before.

The new album will be released on Monday, giving fans plenty of time to get to grips with the new songs before the Bristol date on October 18.
