MAKE no mistake – Piranha 3DD (certificate TBC) is not aiming for high-brow cerebral fare. It is simply a fun couple of hours in the cinema spent jumping from your seat.
A sequel to 2010’s Piranha 3D, the action takes place two years after the events of the first film, which saw a group of strangers club together to survive a school of the hungry, man-eating fish unleashed by an earth tremor.
On the anniversary of the attacks, the fearsome fish go hunting once again in 3DD, this time using a town’s plumbing system to attack water park swimmers.
Suddenly, people entering Big Wet water park find out their entry fee buys them a free ticket to terror.
Delivered in 3D, the film is packed with as many out-of-the-screen moments as it is edge-of-your-seat drama.
Starring the inimitable David Hasselhoff (as himself), Katrina Bowden (TV’s 30 Rock) and Ving Rhames (TV’s Kojak) it is a charismatic and eccentric cast sure to delight audiences as much as the action will scare.
