THRILL-SEEKERS and flying enthusiasts alike are sure to marvel at the demonstrations and displays on offer at the RNAS Yeovilton’s International Air Day in July – and you could be there to enjoy the spectacle in person.

The Royal Navy’s premier award-winning air show annually attracts 35,000 visitors and will return on July 11 to celebrate 75 years of the Yeovilton base.

More than five hours of displays will feature historic naval aircraft such as the Swordfish, Seafire and Sea Vixen, with shows from classic machines like the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain Memorial flight also on the bill.

A wide variety of other attractions will also take place during the day, including engineering fairs, the HM Royal Marines band and a field gun competition. However, for those looking to enjoy some aviation action a little closer to home, the Weston Air Show is also taking place from June 20-21.

The RNAS Yeovilton International Air Day will take place on July 11, from 9am-5pm.

Tickets, priced £6-25, are available from the box office on 03301 003656 or online via

The Mercury has teamed up with RNAS Yeovilton to offer 5 lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to the show.

Usual Archant rules apply and the editor’s decision is final.

The competition will close at 10am on June 12.
