Bikes will roar onto Weston-super-Mare’s seafront when the beach race returns – and two lucky people will be given the VIP treatment.

The HydroGarden Weston Beach Race promises a tough course of off-road racing on October 13-15, where riders will take on the most difficult sand track in the world.

It has been described by organisers as ‘the maddest, baddest and most bonkers race on the UK off-road calendar’.

The race is in its 35th year, and will also feature a trading village, BMX demonstrations and the chance to meet and greet the racing stars.

Multiple world record holder and TV personality Guy Martin, who has earned 16 podium finishes in the Isle Of Man TT, will be competing this year.

Gareth Hockey, director of event organiser RHL Activities, said: “We are really excited at the prospect of having Guy Martin compete at the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race.

“Guy is a class act who is loved by many and in the past he has attempted some of the most difficult challenges on two wheels, so it makes sense that he should race one of the most difficult off-road events in Britain.

“I’m sure he’ll be doing some training in the lead up to the event and we look forward to seeing him on the start line.”

Day tickets begin at £20 for adults and £4 for children, with weekend and VIP packages available. Log on to to book.

The Mercury has teamed up with the organisers of the HydroGarden Weston Beach Race to offer two adult VIP Saturday tickets, worth £170 in total.

The lucky winners will have access to the VIP hospitality suite all day and invites to the meet and greets with the star riders.

They will also be treated to breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea, a welcome bag and drinks all day.

The competition closes at 10am on Tuesday.
