Sabu will be among the stars at next month's wrestling event.

Live wrestling is coming to Weston-super-Mare and lucky Mercury readers will be able to see the action from the best seats in the house.

CSF Professional Wrestling is heading to Hutton Moor Leisure Centre this autumn and promoters believe this latest event will be the biggest and best yet.

ECW, WWE, WCW and NJPW legend Sabu is among the star names on the card this year.

The Winter Gardens has played host to the sporting spectacle for the past 12 years but it has now switched venues due to the changes being made by Weston College to the seafront centre.

CSF believes though that the move across town will only boost the wrestling event, which will take place on October 14.

Its spokesman said: “We can’t thank our fans enough.

“We have held three events per year for 12 years in Weston, with each being warmly welcomed.

“World-class names such as Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, Honky Tonk Man, Mr Anderson, Chris Masters, Doug Williams and Juventud Guerrera have all appeared with us and now on October 14 we bring two huge names to town as Sabu and Mark Andrews help us to celebrate this milestone event.

“We can’t wait to see all the fans, new and those returning when we come back to town.”

Other wrestlers set to appear include White Tiger, Charlie Sterling and Jack Starz.

Doors will open at 6pm, with the wrestling getting underway at 6.30pm. It is due to finish at 9pm.

Tickets, priced £10, are available on 01934 425900 or from the leisure centre.

* The Mercury has teamed up with CSF Professional Wrestling to offer one group pass, which consists of four VIP seats and backstage passes.
