A HOUSING estate in a Somerset village is set to increase in size as a property group will build nine more homes adjacent to its already completed development.

The current Cross Farm development in Wedmore was launched in 2020 and saw 31 new homes brought to the village which are now occupied.

Acorn Property Group has now completed the purchase of the land adjacent to this site - demolition works are already underway to allow Acorn to build a further nine homes.

The new homes at the site named The Close will include two-bedroom semi-detached, plus three and four-bedroom detached houses, including a new four-bedroom barn-style property.

Homes built in The Close will be built using stone, timber cladding and dark roof tiles for a traditional look on the exteriors, whilst inside, high-performance windows will be installed to allow plenty of light into living spaces, in addition to high-quality fittings such as fitted German kitchens with stone worktops.

Features to support energy efficiency include enhanced building fabric, air source heat pumps and solar PV panels.

All homes will benefit from off-road parking and gardens.

The properties will be released for sale towards the ends of 2024. To register your interest, visit acornpropertygroup.org or 0117 244 0400.

Robin Squire, Regional Managing Director of Acorn’s Bristol office, said: “Our Cross Farm development has seen high demand, with almost every property sold off-plan.

We’re excited to have the opportunity to bring more much-needed housing to the area.

“Essentially phase two of Cross Farm, these newest homes will continue to reflect the local landscape and architecture while offering the modern comforts that can be expected of an Acorn home.

"We’re expecting strong demand when these properties launch for sale.”
