A BRAND new smash show featuring some of the very best talent of the 1960s is coming to The Playhouse - and you could win tickets.

A litany of smash hits including Twist And Shout, Do You Love Me and Silence Is Golden will be performed by four classic bands.

The Tremeloes – probably the most popular 1960s band still touring internationally – have had success the world over with a host of chart tunes.

The band even beat The Beatles to a recording contract in a head-to-head audition at Decca Records in the early 1960s.

For Tremeloes fans, it will be the last time they will be able to see original guitarist Rick Westwood live as he is set to retire at the end of this year.

Herman’s Hermits, the group behind I’m Into Something Good, Something Is Happening and No Milk Today, will also be joining the show.

The group racked up more than 23 top 20 singles, 10 hit albums and three major movies, selling a total of 75 million records worldwide.

The Union Gap (UK) have also had a slew of hits, including Young Girl, which hit number one in the UK and number two in the US, followed by another top five hit in both countries, Lady Willpower.

The Ivy League have been going from strength to strength since the vintage 1960s era, maintaining their popularity to the present day, having built their show into one of the finest musical and comedy acts in the country.

Their hilarious songs such as Funny How Love Can Be and Tossing And Turning promise to have audiences crying with laughter.

The Sensational 1960s Experience will be staged at The Playhouse on October 14 at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £20.50-22, are available from www.theplayhouse.co.uk or by calling 01934 645544.
