MUSIC from the iconic British rock and pop band The Shadows will be heard at Weston's Playhouse when one of its finest tribute bands heads to town.

With their synchronised dance moves and pure melodic sound, The Shadows scored 35 hits and 33 with Cliff Richard.

It has been more than 50 years since the band’s stars Hank B Marvin, Bruce Welch, Jet Harris and Tony Meehan recorded the monster hit that launched their career, Apache.

Today The Shadows make few live appearances but The Bootleg Shadows keep their sound alive by performing all their favourite hits including Apache, Foot Tapper, Man Of Mystery, Atlantis, Wonderful Land, and Don’t Cry for Me Argentina.

The Bootleg Shadows formed in 2004 with the sole intention of bringing Shadows music back to the fore.

Band members Keith Smith, Tony Cole, Geoff Bearpark, Tony Bayliss and Steve Green have track records in show business, allowing them to create the Shadows’ sound.

Audiences will be taken on a tour of the Shadows’ career, with plenty of humour to make it a night out to remember.

For anyone who loves the sounds of the 1960s, The Bootleg Shadows perform a unique tribute that has audiences humming the tunes and doing the Shadows’ famous walk long after they have left the theatre.

The Bootleg Shadows will be at the Playhouse on June 26 at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £14-15.50, are available from the box office on 01934 645544 or via www.the playhouse.co.uk
