WIN! Tickets to Carters Steam Fair
PUBLISHED: 09:58 22 July 2011
CARTERS Steam Fair rolls into town on August 4, and has joined up with the Weston Mercury to offer 10 lucky readers the chance to win a family ticket each worth £80.
Situated on Weston’s Beach Lawns, the popular attraction returns for another season (until September 6), offering something for all the family with many of the rides dating back to the early 1900s and in the case of the Gallopers (carousel) to 1895.
Over the years Carters Steam Fair has grown and grown and is now by far the finest collection of vintage fairground rides in the world.
The fair tours regularly from March to October with the winter months spent restoring the fabulous rides and equipment and bringing them back to their former glories.
This year, for the first time Carters will introduce one of the few touring presentations of the sensational Wall of Death, where motorbike riders ride their bikes at 30 mile an hour inside a wooden round wall, each feat seemingly outdoing the previous one in a death defying display.
To be in with a chance of winning one of 10 family tickets (each worth £80) simply click on the link at the top of the page with your answer to the competition question, adding your name, address, and, if possible, a daytime telephone number.
Question: How fast do the motorbike riders travel on the Wall of Death?
Alternatively you can enter by sending your answer and the above details to Carters Steam Fair Competition, Weston, Worle & Somerset Mercury, 32 Waterloo Street, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 1LW, before the closing date of July 28.
