A TASTE of the African savannah will come to Weston as part of a new children's show.
Tinga Tinga will invite youngsters and their parents to come on a fun-packed adventure at The Playhouse theatre on September 30.
The interactive show combines nursery rhymes with tales from the Masaii Mara to tell the story of how the Lion became king of Tinga Tinga Land and is designed for children aged three to 11.
The story follows the wise old bird Banjoko who decides that the land of Tinga Tinga should have a king and sets out to find an animal worthy enough to wear the crown.
On his journey Banjoko meets the cheeky monkey Maliki, a kind but goofy giraffe named Gowon, a groovy zebra called Zalika and a very proud lion called Lutalo.
Youngsters can join in with the animal cast with singing, dancing and drawing throughout the show, with each animal having a special song which the audience is invited to sing.
Five performers and two drummers will lead the children and their families through the story, and the youngsters are also encouraged to turn up in costume as their favourite animal.
Tickets are priced £8.50-10, and are available from the box office on 01934 645544 or at www.theplayhouse.co.uk
