AS HARRY Potter awaits his fifth year of study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry he receives a letter informing him he is about to be expelled for illegally using magic outside school. His only hope is to defend himself at a kangaroo court led by Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge. Much to Fudge's annoyance, Harry is acquitted, but his return to Hogwarts is, for the first time, apprehensive and uncomfortable. Harry has learned that much of the wizard community has been led to believe that the story of his recent encounter with the evil Voldemort is an outright lie, putting his integrity in question.Meanwhile, in an effort to keep an eye on Dumbledore, Fudge has appointed a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Umbridge. But Umbridge's 'Ministry-approved' course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the Dark Forces threatening them. At the prompting of Hermione and Ron, Harry is convinced to take matters into his own hands and, meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves 'Dumbledore's Army', prepares the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that he knows lies ahead.Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is showing at the Odeon, Weston, from Thursday (July 13).* The Weston & Somerset Mercury has teamed up with the Odeon to offer two lucky readers the chance to each win a pair of tickets to see a film of their choice, subject to availability. To enter, please answer the following question: What is the name of the Minister of Magic? * Closes: 10am on July 11. * Usual Archant rules apply and the editor's decision is final.
