STORMS have seen Weston’s seafront slammed by waves today (Fri) as torrential rain and gusts of up to 70mph batter the region.

Trees have been felled in Burnham and along the A370 - where police had to be called after a woman’s car was trapped under a tree at about 8.45pm this morning - click the link for more.

Weston’s sea defences have been battered with waves throughout the day - as the storm gallery shows.

Readers Paul Ratcliffe and Alan Hadley sent in shots of the weather through the Mercury’s readers’ news site, Weston.iwitness24.co.uk
