This is the correct decision and should finally silence Weston's Luddites who want the old Tropicana to be reopened in its original non-profit-making, tax-subsidised format. Not with my council tax you don't!
More power to Henry Boot and its proposals, and of course as a viable business it will need to make a profit, hence the essential add-ons so objected to by some residents.
The Tropicana lost money year on year, as does the Winter Gardens and Playhouse.
The right decision was to close the Tropicana and support the other two. Get over it, Westonians, it ain't coming back - move on.
