SO OUR council has flogged off all the council houses for £19.5million (plus the maintenance contract worth millions) and the £8million originally expected from the sale is going to affordable housing for local people. Therefore the other £11.5 million is missing! No it's not, it has been stolen by Government to squander on the Olympic Stadium and selected vote-winning projects to keep the Government in power, to dictate to us who did not vote for them what we can and can't do. It takes a lady from Pill to disclose this! So what are our councillors doing about this? Nothing at all. They don't even know or care about it. The business of being a councillor has been down-graded to a cipher to pursue aggrandisement and personal gain. For any readers who are worldly wise this should come as no surprise. Unfortunately when in 'proper work' we, the worker ants, cannot devote sufficient time to attack this corrupted system. We need caring people to sort out the town; like Mr Shopland, independent councillor for Clevedon, who takes no shrift from anybody. He's the man. A G F HILLIER - Holland Street, Weston
