OUR councillors have voted for a massive increase in allowances to attract members of higher calibre in the future. They also say that they are putting the old and vulnerable people first, so why are they content to engage agencies who pay their staff wages close to the minimum wage to provide the complex and difficult home care services to the elderly and infirm? Will they be able to give a caring service? I am afraid, on their employment conditions, probably not.Dee Matthew - Carlton Street, Weston
