LAST week saw the start of the dog ban from the central part of the beach. All good and acceptable some may say, but consider this:Apart from Bank Holidays, the whole area of the beach south of the Tropicana car park is hardly used by anyone other than dog walkers. On May 1 I saw the ridiculous sight of council rangers chasing off and warning dog walkers, and yet they were the only people on the beach at that part. Surely the rangers could be better used looking out for joy-riders in the beach car parks, litter louts and drunks, major dangers to us all.We now have the incredibly badly timed prospect of the beach between Knightstone and the pier being closed until October, one of the only two areas the dog-walkers can go! Is the council to allow another part of the beach for us, or are a large percentage of Weston's beach-users to be contemptuously ignored? To say we still have the area at the Royal Sands to go is not much help to those living in the northern part of the town.Come on council, be reasonable!ROGER JONES - Clifton Road, Weston
