Just how much more are Portishead residents going to put up with?Portishead has grown beyond all recognition with the 'great divide' between the old and new and with plots of new intermingled with the old where space is available - little in keeping with Victorian Portishead.Infilling has gone above and beyond and now councils are looking at taking away the farms in the High Street area - what will be next?To build houses in the triangle by St Joseph's Primary School and the Albion is quite ridiculous - it is bad enough that the school was built where it is. When Gordano School has ended, there are children and cars everywhere as well as bikes and scooters on the pavements and small motorbikes being revved up through the High Street. Now homes on farmland behind the White Cot!Perhaps Gordon Brown or the Home Secretary would like a holiday home here to experience firsthand what residents have to put up with, for example, no facilities, no decent library, no second health centre...the list is endless!Enough is enough. Come on residents, show what you are made of and object strongly to any future house building.Still nothing has been done about road access, despite the vastly increased population which is still growing. It's just idle talk and no action.V Parsons - Nore Road, Portishead.
